Hello everyone I wonder if someone could help me. My son just purchased a new v3c phone from US cellular. We would like to transfer some pictures ringtones and wallpaper from one phone to another. He hasn't figured out how to do that. We also have a cable that connects his phone to the computer. Where do we get the software to be able to transfer mp3 files from the computer to the phone? Thanks This is all new to us.
If the filename for the media you wish to transfer has a picture of a small padlock next to it, you can't transfer it to another device (PC or phone.) If not, you should be able to transfer it to another device* either using Bluetooth or the data cable. This is called object exchange or ObEx for short. To transfer the file using Bluetooth, highlight the filename and hit the center (Menu) key, then select 'copy,' then 'Look for devices' and your phone will scan for other Bluetooth-equipped devices. When your phone locates the other device, you will need to pair the devices and then transfer the file. The other device will need to accept the incoming transfer and after the transfer is complete, the new ringtone will appear in the available sounds list. To transfer a file to a computer, you will need Motorola Mobile Phone Tools (4.0 is the most recent version, I believe.) *US Cellular may have limited or eliminated the ability for your phone to perform ObEx, in which case you will not be able to transfer any files using these methods.
Is there a site to check on phones for full obex? I have an old Kyocera Slider SE44 that I would like to transfer my new Kyocera Slider SE44 with a data cable.
